Scandinavian Simplicity in Seven Days
For this project, I had the pleasure of helping a couple set up a one-bedroom apartment in Portland. While their primary residence is on the Oregon Coast, they needed a comfortable, fully equipped landing pad closer to the city. The project came together in just one week.
From the start, the couple made it clear they wanted everything brand new—furniture, mattresses, kitchen essentials, towels, bedding, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and even groceries. They also each needed a small workspace within the apartment. On top of that, they requested a clean, minimal look with a Scandinavian aesthetic.
Sourcing quality furniture on a tight timeline can be challenging due to shipping delays and availability, but thanks to trusted vendors and local resources, I was able to get everything in place. I even made a trip to the coast to pick up select pieces from their art collection to personalize the space.
By the time they arrived, the apartment was completely set up—furniture delivered and arranged, TVs mounted and connected, closets and cupboards stocked with everything from dishes to fresh linens, and the refrigerator filled with essentials. I added a few final touches like beach-inspired fragrance and thoughtfully placed artwork to help it truly feel like home.
The couple was thrilled. They loved how spacious and inviting the apartment felt, and said the space perfectly reflected their style. It was a joy to support them through this transition and take on the challenge of creating a fully functional, welcoming home in just one week.
